Seriously, quit trying to tell me what I can and can't do with your open
source software.

I agree with your why.
"We don't want to make it easy for users to shoot themselves in the foot, then
blame us."

I do not agree with your what.
"We won't make it easy for users to shoot themselves in the foot."

Like bug 1754 fixes, an option for this will be available as an open source
patch set to your open source software.

At least two of your users want this feature. I speak for five Clamav
installations, I don't know how many the other guy has.

Also, what I have learned about Clamav in the last 24 hours while chasing this
feature makes the effort worth it.  I've gotten more out of the experience
than I've put in yet.  You can bet I'm going to finish this.
