You should also be able to build with older gcc, just that the JIT will
be disabled (or you can disable it yourself with --disable-llvm).

The only question is whether to use 0.95.x or 0.96.x, <=0.95 don't work
at all now.

I'd suggest you to try 0.96.1.

The oldest I ever tested ClamAV with is gcc 3.4.x, I don't know if
3.2.x would work or not.
Try to build it, run 'make check' and if everything passes it should
work.
