Here is the thing. clamav & clamsmtp work perfectly in my virtual linux machine, but not when I install them in my desktop box.
The error from /var/log/mail.log which I cannot resolve is dark_matter clamsmtpd: 100001: CLAMAV: couldn't connect to: /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl: Permission denied These are the packages I used to install clam using apt-get install /var/cache/apt/archives/clamav-daemon_0.95.1+dfsg-1ubuntu1.2_i386.deb /var/cache/apt/archives/clamav_0.95.1+dfsg-1ubuntu1.2_i386.deb /var/cache/apt/archives/clamsmtp_1.10-1ubuntu1_i386.deb I have read that the socket can take some time to establish.
