It's even easier than that. The free VMWare player product will run virtual 
machines in Windows and Linux, and they have a large number of pre-built 
appliances (Linux OS pre-packaged as a virtual machine) available for download. 
If you have a good download speed you can have a running virtual machine on 
your 
Intel desktop in less than 30 minutes and no installation issues to go through.

Running Windows in a virtual machine in Windows or Linux is actually a pretty 
safe way to run Windows, and if there's any corruption or virus infection in 
the 
VM you can delete it and replace it with a copy of your master.

However - I have a RedHat Linux system that I used for developing PXE boot 
scripts and it has no real purpose right now, so if someone can explain what is 
needed to recreate the problem I'll give it a try. I don't normally use ClamAV 
in Linux systems so while it's installed, it's not a production system. I can 
set up a VMWare image on it for redistributing.
