HI Rene OK thanks I see the problem but have no Idea how to resolve it.
The directory /var/run/clamd/ exists and is owned by vscan:vscan but the actual socket does not exist. I was under the impression that the application will create the socket?!?! How do I create it manually? rgds Lawrence On 25/06/07, René Berber <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA256 > > Lawrence Strydom wrote: > > [snip] > > And this is /etc/clamd.conf: > > > ========================================================================= > > LogFile /var/log/clamd > > LogFileUnlock > > LogSyslog > > LogFacility LOG_MAIL > > LogVerbose > > PidFile /var/lib/clamav/clamd.pid > > DatabaseDirectory /var/lib/clamav > > LocalSocket /var/run/clamd/clamd > > FixStaleSocket > > User vscan > > Foreground > - --^^^^^^^^^^ > Foreground is for testing only, get rid of it. > > [snip] > > Can anyone see anything that is glaringly obvious? > > Yes, did /var/run/clamd/clamd even exist? what ownership/permissions does > it > have, and how well does it match your vscan daemon? > - -- > René Berber > > - -- > René Berber > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (Cygwin) > > iD8DBQFGfv+iL3NNweKTRgwRCEWFAKDRC6IhW3uKHCrVdHGMubBWHGVDVQCfcNww > 9A6SukNXKyZ3OniinqSTano= > =wtqu > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > _______________________________________________ > Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net > http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html > > _______________________________________________ Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html
