With all due respect, that "advice" doesn't solve anything. clamassassin
serves a purpose that ClamAV doesn't do.

This one, however, is correct. :)
Use clamd -- if not installed / built yet, do so. Rebuild clamassassin.
Have a look at its README, particularly the --enable-clamdscan option.
