Hello everyone I have a problem since i updated my main mail-box from Debian Sarge to Etch. Clam is now VERY cpu and memory hungry ,) Box is sendmail/clamav-milter/Clam configured on a PII-450
Not being able to switch/change Hardware just now, i'd like to stop scanning outgoing mail for a start. Removed the -o and -l switch ... no luck Seems one of my trouble there is that my mail server and my clients are on an non RFC IP range ;( Being 199.100.100.X it will still scan outgoing mails grrr Problem is that every inside PC arrives Natted by an Cisco Firewall to the Mail server with different IPs witch are on the 199.100.100.50-254 range. Server himself is 199.100.100.14. is --ignore 199.100.100.14 enought to solve my problem or is --ignore 199.100.100.0/24 even posible ? Cause there are 200 adress to ignore ,( The other solution would be to whitelist the expeditors of our maillings.... Tried that way adding --whitelist-file /etc/whitelist.txt On my default Calmav-milter config... As i have no idea how to restart the milter i rebooted the production server ,) Exept it didn't like it and complaining that my white list /etc/clamav/whitelist was not compliant with sendmail.cf ?? Haven't found yet answer about that problem so far.... After deleting the new options, realised at next reboot that clamav-milter takes nearly 30sec to start. Seems it waits for clamav to start as next line told me about how well i'm protected against 10482 virus ,) Are there anyone witch actually used the whitelist aproach ? -- Thierry Jaboeuf Administrateur Réseau Groupe-GLI Tel : 01.55.56.70.28 _______________________________________________ Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html
