Hi,

I'm running clamsmtpd and postfix quite succesfully for a year or two now,
clamd and a clamsmtpd script are in /etc/init.d and that was all fine.
Somewhere in the recent months however, when I ran yum on my centos 4.4 server,
it updated clamav with all kinds of extra and new things. I'm totally
unclear as to
what is used or necessary for what use.

For example, when I run yum update now, I get:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# yum update
Setting up Update Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Resolving Dependencies
--> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait.
---> Package clamav-lib.i386 0:0.88.7-1.el4.kb set to be updated
---> Package clamav-server.i386 0:0.88.2-2.el4.kb set to be updated
---> Package clamav-data.i386 0:0.88.7-1.el4.kb set to be updated
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: clamav-lib = 0.88.2-2.el4.kb for package:
clamav-server
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: clamav-lib = 0.88.2-2.el4.kb is needed by
package clamav-server

Do I even need to have clamav-server installed? This package is new to me.
Can I safely remove it through yum ?

By the way; Yes, I have now disabled the use of the "kb" repository
for my server.

Thanks in advance.

Carl
