Well, apparently attachments get stripped.  Anyway, here is the text of
his response:

"They will be trimmed once I have time to do some more work on it. I'm
working on feeding in the notifications from mailscanner/clamav-milter
in so
I can see which old signatures are still being hit and hence still need to
be included in the signatures.

I hadn't noticed much of a slowdown on my system to be honest, I mostly use
clamd and clamav-milter. Running from the command line it does take a
couple
of seconds though.

I'll try to get the extra code done over the weekend and try to get it
trimmed down."
