Any worries around leaping releases as shown? I've built OK and am in
the process of looking over the conf file changes as we speak. Any
major changes to look at? I had hoped to install it tonight, but
obviously want to avoid potential issues. The 2 servers it's going on
support 250k emails / day.
The main admin-visible change is the new format of the clamd.conf file.
The various options in clamd.conf now must have an explicit "yes" or
"no" argument, not just be present. Also, the clamd.conf man page
somewhat implies that "enabled" or "disabled" are valid options, but
they aren't - accepted values are {yes, 1, true} or {no, 0, false}.
Also, a few of the clamscan options have changed. If you have any
scripts that call clamscan you might want to review their options.
I hope you're planning to update to 0.90 when it's released and not
just stay on -rc3 indefinitely. While -rc3 seems to work well for
me, I would be amazed if there aren't some issues fixed before 0.90
is released.
My customer currently has verbose logging enabled - is it very resource
intensive?
Turn that off unless you suspect some problem.
