This is a good point, I would argue that the default in this case should
be to just trash the message, but I could see how others might feel that
this would result in the loss of valuable mail.
The last change for many packagers was the move to split ClamAV into
many packages to simplify some of the updates. I manage a package I
borrowed from the DAG repo long ago for FC1... I still have it
updated to the latest version and have not had any problems with
dependencies.
It seems to be heresy on this list to even suggest that such a package
should exist. However, risking further abuse, I'll ask a couple of dumb
questions:
1) Will it install on FC6 and run safely and effectively after installation?
2) Are you willing to distribute it (either to me or to others). Giving
it to me doesn't solve the problem in a general sense (but should solve
it for me), but there doesn't seem to be support for acknowledging that
there is a problem and so that a solution is required.
