Apparently you don't know either, so please make the soap box

The question cannot be answered definitively. The virus names returned
by VirusTotal are all rather generic. The general answer is yes, clamav
detects viruses soon after they are submitted for analysis.
Anyone else is welcome to chime in if they have more information. The
soap box is open.
It's ok to say "I don't have an answer" when you don't have an answer.
It is only slightly less useful than remaining silent.
I already know the question is difficult, but it isn't impossible to
answer as there are other AV vendors who have a solution for this
particular problem if the article is to be believed.
