Perhaps you didn't uninstall the earlier version and or you didn't stop
the old version and start the new version. Perhaps you did neither.
Yeppers. I uninstalled 0.88.4 by using the following
make uninstall form the directory that I expanded 0.88.4 into. is there
another way to do this? And yes, I had stopped clamd and restarted it. If
you look above, both clamd and freshclam think they are the new versions,
yet they think that they are running 0.88.4. I
They think that because they probably are. Did you stop and start
freshclam (assuming that you are using it as a daemon)?
