Friends, I have just installed (make from source ) clamav 0.88.4.
I now wish to have it run and scan for viruses. The machine I have this on is a linux mach ( RH es3 ) running samba and is being used for file sharing with windows machines. my share point is a second drive ( mnt/data ) I understand that I need to edit the clamd.conf. I thought that it would be there that one declares what to scan... I do not see it. I was thinking of having it scan just once a day. also I need to know how to have freshclam update the virus definitions ( database ) so...my Q what do I ( & how do I ) edit to declare what to scan ( mnt/data ) and How often and what do I edit so that freshclam will get the new definitions?
