I don't have personal experience, but a lot of people have been using Postfix through MailScanner as their virus scanning and spam filtering manager - see http://www.mailscanner.info. ClamAV is the recommended
virus scanner for that package.

MailScanner has been documented to on rare occasion truncate mail it is processing in postfix. MailScanner is a fine product to use with other MTA's, but not with postfix. Doubtless there are many people who will testify they haven't noticed a problem. Apparently they don't mind playing russian roulette with their mail.

Popular choices for integrating clamav with postfix include clamsmtp and amavisd-new.
