First post to the Clamav list.
I have Clamav 0.88.2 installed from source on an OSX client machine.
I want to upgrade to 0.88.4.
Now, usually when I upgrade Clamav, I back up the clamd.conf and
freshclam.conf
files and cd to the old clamav source folder. From there I run 'make
uninstall' and all
is well.
The problem is, somebody deleted the old clamav source folder so
'make uninstall' is
no longer possible. (I presume this is correct).
To manually remove clamav from the system, what are ALL the relevant
files I should
be looking for ??
Much Thanks,
Robert.
Stop clamav first!
In the previous build directory:
# make uninstall

That's my problem !
An 'unnamed colleague' deleted the previous build directory.
Sorry for my fat fingeredness - something came to mind - you may not now
have all the info that went into building the previous version, so it is
not safe to presume as I suggested that the new build will overwrite the
binaries. I build from scripts to everything is perfectly reproduceable,
but you may have to reverse-engineer the --prefix directory and it may
not work as hoped. In this case, find and destroy the original binaries
manually. Anything date tagged the same as clamd is a good candidate.
