That's why I asked before posting any scripts or config files. And I
have not found a list that covers SquidClamAV specifically.

"assume" is not allowed here. You have to say what is in the log file ;)
Od, I did forget to mention, nothing in any log files other than
freshclam checking for updates and the normal messages when clamd is
starts up. I am using ClamAV with an MTA on another server, so I know
what should be in Clam's log files when it actually find the EICAR test
file.

You only need to post your config file if there is an error with Clamav,
otherwise you have to post them to the correct forum.
FWIW, I use Dansguardian (stripped down to do only Virus checking) with
ClamAv (clamd) and it works beautifully.
