Consider this simple scenario: I'm Mr mega-trojan distributor, and I've decided that a good new social engineering trick is to include a footer on each of my spammed trojanised emails. Do I need to explain in any detail or have you figured it yet? Such footers are at best misleading, at worst lulling people into a false sense of confidence.
