You are running a backrev'd version of clamav and should upgrade it to 0.88.2.

It would also be helpful to see the clamd.conf file. If you are also running clamav-miter it would be helpful to know what parameters you use with it.

In order to keep things readable it also helps to send only line in the config files that do not begin with #, and to eliminate blank lines.

Examine the clamd, clamav-milter, and freshclam startup scripts and check the commandline parameters. It appears freshclam is given a --daemon-notify argument but is pointing to clamav-milter rather than clamd's socket (the path to which is found in clamd.conf).

Be advised you may or may not have other versions of clamd.conf and freshclam.conf on your system. It happens a lot. This can be very confusing for the operator because changes you make to the wrong files are ignored. Take the time to validate your installation! And since you need to upgrade anyway, uninstall completely and install the latest version and document where the binaries, libraries, config files, databases, temp files, startup scripts, etc., go.
