It could use a random length sleep statement in there so everyone doesn't hit Steve's server at the same time. Even a 10 minute window can help, though it should be less than the crontab interval.

This is a good practice for anything you pull from the web at regular intervals.

I mirror a file for another vendor and it seems everyone hits within seconds of each other.
