Andrew, Let's step back for a minute once again. On your 10.20, system, go and look at /usr/include/netdb.h . Find the section where it defines "h_errno" which is a macro that will be defined to either a function call or an external variable depending on if the macro _REENTRANT is defined at compile time. (On 11.11, it is right at the end of the file).
