This is # 13 taken from the FAQ:

A - Starting from release 0.90, ClamAV allows you to
choose whether to
detect phish as some kind of malware or not. This should
put an end to the
endless threads on our mailing lists. So long, and thanks
for all the phish.

Now, unless I've missed something the current release is
0.87. This means
the statement above applies to a future, not currently
available version?
I've been unable to locate any clear answers regarding
ClamAVs current
support of antiphishing measures OR if the above FAQ is
telling me that
anti-phishing is something that will be supported in the
future 0.9 version.
Can anyone help me to better understand the details
regarding anti-phishing
support.

The clamav virus database currently has about 500
"Phishing" signatures to detect this type of
mail. Whenever clamav 0.9 is released, it will have the
ability to ignore admin-specified signatures. I don't
believe a timeline has been released of when to expect 0.9.
The archive contains ample arguments both for and against
detecting phish, no need to discuss all that again.
