[EMAIL PROTECTED] clamav-0.87.1]# ps ax | grep freshclam 5220 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/bin/freshclam -d -p /var/run/clamav/freshclam.pid > if it's there, try and figure out what is starting it (if you haven't removed > it already), look in /etc/init.d or possibly even /etc/inetd or /etc/xinetd thanks, now I know why freshclam runs. /etc/init.d contains clamd freshclam /etc/inetd does not exist, /etc/xinetd does not contain any clam references. I don't mind it running, I just mind it complaining about an old version when I know I've installed the new version. As noted separately I nuked an old version of clamav tonight along with an old version of clam-update, that may have been the source of the nag. Thanks again, cheers, Andy _______________________________________________ http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html
