Thank you Jerzy Your link and your instructions were very helpful I also had to just upgrade zlib and zlib-devel packages
I got it right in my first shot by equating the line (socket) from /etc/sysconfig/clamav-milter into sendmail.mc S=local:/var/run/clamav/clamav-milter.sock..... restarted clamd and then clamav-milter It is now showing a virus status in the header of my mails.. Goal achieved..!!!!!!!!! :-) > I quess that you use Linux Fedora distribution > Please try to use current Clamav binary package (0.87.1) > http://www.clamav.net/binary.html#pagestart > > At all: > The socket in the sendmail.mc file (after m4 sendmail.cf) for example > local:/var/run/clmilter.sock > MUST agree with socket_adress in the clamav-milter daemon start argument > for example > clamav-milter local:/var/run/clmilter.sock > > Order of starting (very important!) > clamd > clamav-milter > > Your approach is OK.
