In Reply to the PROBLEM discribed earlier

THE SOLUTION i found out is this

RESTART the xinetd service - it has to some relation with the CLAM process .

After stoping All the Clam processes - infact stop all sendmail process - make sure the the sock and pid file are not there .

Stop the xinetd - and the restart all again - it will WORK :)
