Never mind, I found it - it looks like there is not full support for milters yet: "sendmail X.0 is intended to be used as a secure and efficient mail gateway. It does not provide any mail content modification capabilities, e.g., address masquerading. Later versions will probably add such capabilities, e.g., support for milters (currently only policy milters are supported which can inspect and reject mails but not modify them)."
