There are excellent builds for RedHat 9.0 that I have tested myself at the
following site:

http://dag.wieers.com/packages/clamav/

Just download all the i386 packages that are labeled Red Hat 9.  Then, to
install, simply type "rpm -ivh filename1.rpm filename2.rpm", etc...
