It looks like the Sober.P virus has a termination date, just like the previous Sober variants had. The cutoff date is suspiciously close to Tue May 10 2005, 0:00 UTC.
More accurate is to say that Sober-P entered "hibernation" - it's still active on infected machines, not replicating itself, but waiting for an update.
The Sober-Q varianter was downloaded this way and it's currently responsible for a serie of "rightwing propaganda" spam messages.
