Mine is configured to check the tables every 600 seconds regardless of
what freshclam is doing. My understanding is if a new database is
available it will attempt to load it. I don't know what it might do if
only part of a new database is found (as it might be when in transit).
However, freshclam will advise it when the database is fully downloaded.
