I certainly don't think this is whining.  It's a discussion about
enhancements to a really awesome product.  I don't think it's bad to
want to improve.

And as an admin, my job is to balance cost (including maintenance time -
grabbing the latest source, compiling it and distributing it across my
servers) against benefit.  I certainly see benefit in a self-updating
product a la McAfee.
