I 'had' a beautiful Clamd installation working on a Debian distribution
with MIMEDefang.

I received the warning from freshclam that my ClamAV installation was
outdated. I entered Debian "dselect" and without changing any selections
took the option to upgrade. The upgrade warned me that freshclam.conf
would be overwritten, which I accepted. The upgrade failed as follows:

Replacing config file /etc/clamav/freshclam.conf with new version
Starting ClamAV virus database updater: ERROR: Number of checks must be
a positive integer.
invoke-rc.d: initscript clamav-freshclam, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing clamav-freshclam (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 41

With the benefit of hindsight, I felt that I probably should have
disabled it within MIMEDefang first.

I have searched the archives, faqs and Google, but this error seems to
be unique!

Any pointers very gratefully received.

Thank you.

Chris Roberts
