Thank you for the pointers. I was not trying to denigrate Arkady's statements, but explain that the ClamAV project is not set up the way he wants, and that he may have to do his own legwork to make it fit. I understand that Arkady is in an unusual situation, and that he would like the ClamAV project to be easily workable for his environment, but it is not currently. It seems to me that instead of asking 'why not' he would be better off spending some time thinking about how to make it work. For instance, others have pointed out to him that he can access the cvd files via ftp. He also apparently has a friend with a LAN that has some sort of outside access - this friend could then mail him the cvd files. But he already had many suggestions from many people more knowledgeable than I, and he continued to ask, 'why is it not set up this way?' which wasn't getting anyone anywhere. I am sorry if I offended, but sometimes, sad to say, people will have to do some of the work themselves if they have an environment different from that for which the project was designed. It is not meant as an attack or a judgement.
