I do _not_ "dislike" freshclam, but does it works with ftpmail robots,
which sends files from ftp over email? _And_ does it supports UUPC protocol
to send request to ftpmail robots?
BTW, there is also other peoples, who, like me, prefer to have control
over ClamAV updating (especially without explicit inet access). Partially,
they know about ftp://database.clamav.net/, but this site requires (unknown)
login. :(

There issue not "security", but service availability at all.

...and? Let suggest, I receive files with virus bases. What next? Will
be sufficient to just place these bases into ClamAV directories?
