Hi!

I'm new to clamav and have dumb questions (don't know where else search
answers for them):

- how ClamAV virus base files are related? For example, Dr.Web contains one
big base (drwebase.vdb), which is distributed along with newer Dr.Web
versions, and small (5-20k each) weekly add-ons (drwVVVNN.vdb, where VVVNN
is number, specific for each add-on), which placed to Dr.Web' directory
with bases. (Dr.Web itself searches .vdb files and loads only those, which
are newer, than main base.) How builded ClamAV bases and which files/names
  used for this?

- how to receive updates (beside online access through internet) for ClamAV
virus bases and how they are big? For example, Dr.Web updates are so
small, that they are easily downloadable through different sources and
there even was service from DialogNauka, which sends updates through
  email.

- (my friend asks) Is there possible to configure downloading/updating bases
through specific places? For example, he updates ClamAV bases on the LAN
server and ClamAV on client machines updates itself from this server? If
this is not possible with built-in tools of ClamAV, how you recommend to
  resolve this task?

PS: I myself use Win9x (yet) with no online.
