Yes, I am a newbie. I can manually run a virus check on my machine and
on my mail program (evolution), using Clamav. My goal, is to
automatically update my virus database and scan my email automatically
as it arrives. To this end, I have tried to configure and use clamd.
On booting my machine I receive the following error.
Starting Clam Antivirus Daemon: Error: You must select server type
(local/TCP)
I've tried and tried to configure my clamd.conf using gedit. I always
end up with the above error. Also, I have tried to restart the
clamd.conf file after changing it, but cannot. Please tell me the steps
or procedure for doing this. The following is an excerpt from my
clamd.conf file. Any help and/or explanations would be greatly
appreciated.
