The Cobalt RaQ2 has the following... gcc-c++-2.7.2-c3r2 gcc-objc-2.7.2-c3r2 gcc-2.7.2-c3r2 glibc-2.0.7-29.4C2 and 0.80rc3 will not build. again.
I'm wondering if I should work on making a new patch, wait longer,
that could work. Possibly. Maybe. Eventually.
or just give up because I will never have a newer compiler, etc... and clamav will require them?
That would be a more realistic option :)
Although the clamav team is working hard to provide compatibility with many compilers and platforms,
they might have problems keeping compatibility for a system they don't actually have.
0.80rc3 is not offically a released version (note the rc), so you may find some improvements
in the final 0.80.
If you don't mind using non-rpm package, you could compile it somewhere else statically, and transfer
it to your RaQ (it is x86 linux, right ?)
Try http://clamav.or.id/snapshot/clamav-devel-latest.linux-static.tar.gz for starters.
