I suspect that 504 M viruses is part of the reason.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# sigtool --stdout -i /var/clamav/main.cvd | grep "#"
# of signatures: 21096

It should be closer to 22 K.

I'd say your virus database is corrupt.
