Hi all,
We have CLAMD up & running with our CommunigatePro mailserver and CGPAV filter.
We do an hourly check for fresh virusses using cron and freshclam, and it works perfectly.
Some questions: will clamd automatically use the new virus-defenitions freshclam has downloaded, or do we need to relaunch clamd?
If you include NotifyClamd [config file] in you freshclam.conf then freshclam will try to notify clamd about new definitions. In this case you don't need to reload your clamd.
Is this why there is an option in the freshclam.conf "NotifyClamd"? Do I need to enable that?
If you need your clamd to be notified by freshclam, then yes, enable it.
We are using LocalSocket, not TCPSocket.
In fact it doesn't matter. freshclam will look at your settings in clamd config file and connect to the daemon using supported mechanism.
Thanks!
