Hi Chris, I just (this week) installed a mail gateway running ClamAV. Since I also wanted spam filtering I opted to go with Sendmail-MailScanner-ClamAV-SpamAssassin. Install went pretty smooth and configuration was not too tough even for a M$ admin. :) Results? 100% of spam caught and 90+% of spam being dropped at the server not even making it's way to me Exchange server. Pretty impressive for 2 days work. We only process 5-8k of messages a day and this is all running very nicely on a P233 Pentium with 192MB of ram. I can't tell you how impressed I am with the accuracy and quality of ClamAV. I've had many more problems with commercial offerings.
You may want to look into MailScanner as a wrapper for ClamAV and SpamAssassin, it's all working perfectly for me. HTH Regards, Ken > -----Original Message----- > From: Christopher M.
