Not that specific entry in the logs but freshclam does die on me about once every week or two. Happens on 5 or 6 different boxes too, some running Slackware 9.1, some running FreeBSD 4.8, some running older version of Slackware.
I've gone to running freshclam from cron instead of a daemon myself now.
