since, i've REBOOTED, i'm now seeing ClamAV via CGPAV "find" *and* discard the "Fool" viruses ... i.e., working again.
i have no clue as to what was going on, after Thomasz comment that the 'name' i was seeing is the ClamAV name ... but the reboot seems to have done the trick.
strange that behavior just changed in mid-stream like that ...

Are these messages that get through bounced delivery reports by any chance?
I think there is an issue with defanging on the current cgpav that means it doesn't treat certain types of bounce messages properly before passing them to clamd.
