Well, even after I disable urandom, which my system does not have anyway,
I still have clamd hanging; eating up over 90% of the CPU, and doing nothing basically.
I am trying daily builds, but it does not help. This sometimes happen after five minutes of runtime, but sometimes with just 2 minutes of runtime.

Here's a workaround
Try my daily build
http://clamav.or.id/snapshot/

It's built on Solaris 8 with gcc and other gnu tools (make, ld, etc.)
I run this copy and it works fine on my server.
Start with the provided clamav.conf.sol8, and adjust the rest to your need.
Be sure disable ScanMail (you don't need it anyway with amavis).

On my system, the average load is around 3. That's because spamassassin is using 80% of it.
Without SA (e.g. only exim and clamd), the load should be under 1.
That's with over 70000 "clean" incoming mail daily (virus and spam excluded).

PS : you need 32 bit version of libgmp. Also available there.

Fajar
