True, postfix doesn't support milter and I don't know enough about milter 
specifically to speak intelligently about it.  Postfix does, however, have 
a nifty pipe/smtp relay based content filter which you can do just about 
anything with.  We have an intermediate perl script which is where amavis 
is plugged in along with many other mail checks we use to make sure the 
system is sane.
