sigtool --list-sigs   works just fine for me, but as an alternative you
can just unpack the main and daily signature databases and extract the
names from those - something like this should work fine on the
uncompressed .cvd files :

cat main.db | awk -F "(Clam)=" {'print $1'}

add   |wc   to that to count the number of sigs.

same for daily.db
