First: Please _dont_ top-post...Because I like the way I can control qmail and clamd via daemontools...
And freshclam stopping is, to me, a major issue. If it stops and I'm unaware that it has stopped, then I run the risk of missing a vital virus definition update...
If noone else has implemented this, then I'll just read a lot and figure it out on my own ... I'll post my results to the list when I have some... I attempted this already, but all I got for my troubles was a large number of freshclam instances running at once... *doh!*

From my personal experience freshclam is _very_ stable, and doesn't need to run through daemontools. Also you can always run it through cron if you distrust it's daemon capabilities...
