I've recently upgraded ClamAv from 0.65 to the 0.66-rc... Using qmail-scanner, I was taking advantage of the clamdscan utility without any trouble...
After the upgrade, however, I've been forced to use clamscan, instead as clamdscan has been having trouble...
The logs report as follows:
============================================================
Thu, 12 Feb 2004 13:42:48 -0500:29674: run /usr/bin/clamdscan -r --disable-summary --max-recursion=10 --max-space=1000000 /var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/fire107661136846329674 2>&1
Thu, 12 Feb 2004 13:42:48 -0500:29674: --output of clamscan was:
/var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/fire107661136846329674: Can't access the file ERROR

============================================================
I've decided it is in fact a file permissions thing as other directories that clamd does not have permissions to also fails...
Running clamscan on the same directories (albeit as root) works..
So my questions are: When using clamdscan, files are traversed as the clamav user (who clamd is running as), right? My user config hasn't changed, so why is this an issue now and not before?
Also, a doc update to reflect exit code 2 (an other exit codes) would be helpful..
In any event, thanks so much for an excellent product. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Carl
