Hi,

I'm running clamav on a Suse Linux 9 system with qmail and qmail-scanner. It
worked smoothly right after the installation, but stopped working when I
tested it again a few days later (maybe I've messed up something, or might it
have something to do with freshclam?). A reinstallation didn't bring any
improvement, neither did the consultation of the archives of this list.

Running clamscan from the command line works without problems, but if I test
it using the test_installation.sh-script, which is included in qmail-scanner,
the output in the qmail-queue-log is the following (the complete output can
be found at the bottom of this message):
error_condition: X-Qmail-Scanner-1.20: clamuko: corrupt or unknown clamd
scanner error or memory/resource/perms problem - exit status 2

As indicated in this maillist, I've increased the softlimit (up to 20000000),
but that doesn't help. What intrigues me is the fact, that "clamuko" is
mentioned in the error message - I have not uncommented the clamuko-entry in
clamav.conf, because I just want to use clamscan. I've also explicitly
mentioned clamscan in the qmail-scanner-installation (because by default it
finds "clamuko_scanner"), trying to prevent it using clamuko - no effect.

I'm running out of ideas how to solve that problem...I'll appreciate any
advice,

thanks,

Rafael Walthert
