Hi, I'm running clamav on a Suse Linux 9 system with qmail and qmail-scanner. It worked smoothly right after the installation, but stopped working when I tested it again a few days later (maybe I've messed up something, or might it have something to do with freshclam?). A reinstallation didn't bring any improvement, neither did the consultation of the archives of this list.
Running clamscan from the command line works without problems, but if I test it using the test_installation.sh-script, which is included in qmail-scanner, the output in the qmail-queue-log is the following (the complete output can be found at the bottom of this message): error_condition: X-Qmail-Scanner-1.20: clamuko: corrupt or unknown clamd scanner error or memory/resource/perms problem - exit status 2 As indicated in this maillist, I've increased the softlimit (up to 20000000), but that doesn't help. What intrigues me is the fact, that "clamuko" is mentioned in the error message - I have not uncommented the clamuko-entry in clamav.conf, because I just want to use clamscan. I've also explicitly mentioned clamscan in the qmail-scanner-installation (because by default it finds "clamuko_scanner"), trying to prevent it using clamuko - no effect. I'm running out of ideas how to solve that problem...I'll appreciate any advice, thanks, Rafael Walthert Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: +++ starting debugging for process 21978 by uid=0 at Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100 Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: setting UID to EUID so subprocesses can access files generated by this script Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: program name is qmail-scanner-queue.pl, version 1.20 Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: incoming pipe connection from via local process 21978 Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: w_c: mkdir /var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/mail2107557238046121978 Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: w_c: start dumping incoming msg into /var/spool/qmailscan/working/tmp/mail2107557238046121978 [1075572380.66627] Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: w_c: rename new msg from /var/spool/qmailscan/working/tmp/mail2107557238046121978 to /var/spool/qmailscan/working/new/mail2107557238046121978 [1075572380.66691] Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: d_m: starting /usr/local/bin/reformime -x/var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/mail2107557238046121978/ </var/spool/qmailscan/working/new/mail2107557238046121978 [1075572380.66714] Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: d_m: finished /usr/local/bin/reformime -x/var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/mail2107557238046121978/ [1075572380.67251] Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: d_m: unpacking message took 0.005518 seconds Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: unsetting QMAILQUEUE env var Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: g_e_h: return-path is "", recips is "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: from=Qmail-Scanner Test <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,subj=Qmail-Scanner test (1/4): inoffensive message, x-qmail-scanner-message-id=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> via local process 21978 Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: ini_sc: start scanning Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: ini_sc: recursively scan the directory /var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/mail2107557238046121978/ Sat, 31 Jan 2004 19:06:20 +0100:21978: scanloop: starting scan of directory "/var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/mail2107557238046121978"...
