550's is not a bounce, it is SMTP status that you reject the virus being sent to you.

--quiet stops all messages downstream and bounces - it is a separate issue.

To discard rather than reject messages (with a 550 status) use the --noreject 
clamav-milter
flag added in 0.66j.
