I am running: clamd / ClamAV version 0.65 ClamAV version 0.65, clamav-milter version 0.60p
on FreeBSD. I'm having a problem were "clamav-milter" often times out: Jan 27 13:53:06 net sm-mta[92538]: i0RKqYOj092538: Milter (clamav): timeout befo re data read Jan 27 13:53:06 net sm-mta[92538]: i0RKqYOj092538: Milter (clamav): to error sta te These log entries are mixed with plenty of: Jan 27 13:53:11 net sm-mta[92836]: i0RKr7Ok092836: Milter add: header: X-Virus-S canned: ClamAV version 'clamd / ClamAV version 0.65', clamav-milter version '0.6 0p' The timeouts seem to come in waves. If I run clamd with "Foreground" and "Debug" enabled it appears to be doing nothing when clamav-milter is timing out. I have the following settings in "clamav.conf": LogFile /var/log/clamav/clamd.log LogVerbose PidFile /var/run/clamav/clamd.pid LocalSocket /var/run/clamav/clamd FixStaleSocket TCPAddr 127.0.0.1 MaxConnectionQueueLength 100 StreamSaveToDisk StreamMaxLength 35M MaxThreads 1000 MaxDirectoryRecursion 15 User clamav AllowSupplementaryGroups Foreground Debug ScanMail ScanArchive ArchiveMaxFileSize 10M ArchiveMaxRecursion 5 ArchiveMaxFiles 1000 ClamukoScanOnOpen ClamukoScanOnClose ClamukoScanOnExec ClamukoIncludePath /home ClamukoMaxFileSize 1M ClamukoScanArchive And suggestions? The only guess I have is that it's being overwhelmed by the volume (this mail server delivers about 50K inbound message per day). I'm hopping there is some knob I can turn to help it keep up. As you can see, I have boosted MaxThreads and MaxConnectionQueueLength, but it hasn't seemed to help.
