- it does not include a code emulation which makes it useless against polymorphic viruses.
- it does not have OLE2 engine which makes it unable to detect practically all macro viruses.
- no frontend currently exists to implement real-time on-access scan on Win32 platform (no clamuko for Windows).
However, it is perfect for "integration with mail servers (attachment scanning)". So if you have a mail server that runs under Win32 (like CommuniGate Pro), and can find (or make) the plugin for clamav (like cgpav), then clamav-win32 might be a good choice.
For on-demand scanner, "clamscan /cygdrive/c" should work.
